Haven't been here in over 7 years! Ballast point is known for their brewery that they make themselves (I think). This place is in a very nice location that overlooks the ocean and sunset. I'm not much of a drinker, I couldn't finish half their fruitiest drink. However I ordered their fish and chips which was very delicious! This place has really good bar food. Each table has a QR code to order your food or drink. They bring it to you. QR code is all different so it lets the waiter or waitress know where you're sitting. There's plentiful seatings and you can choose where to sit. There's also seatings on the second floor. Very nice place for social event!
This is a great brewery especially if you are going with a large group and you don't want to split bills. They have QR codes for the menu and you order online. Make sure you are logged on to your WiFi since the service isn't great. If you don't have service or hate ordering online you can go up to the bar and order your food and drink. We had a party of 10 and we had no issue finding a spot outside with the open seating policy. If you opt in for an outside spot, make sure you are wearing sunscreen since they have limited umbrellas. I ordered the pineapple sculpin from the summer menu and it was just want I was looking for. It had a nice tropical twist to their classic sculpin. For food, I got the flatbread and nachos. The nachos were incredible and they were easy to share. We absolutely loved the view of boats passing by while we mingled and enjoyed the sun.
This 5-Star review is mainly for the location and the beers. Spectacular views from its spot on the harbor channel! Ballast Point brews are excellent especially their famous Sculpin collection. The food is what you would expect at a brewery. It's pretty good and freshly made to order. Ordering is done from your phone using a QR code and online menu system. Food and drinks are then brought to your table. Otherwise the servers/food runners are happy to provide anything else you might need. This is just a perfect spot to enjoy a Southern California afternoon!
After a long week, a couple of colleagues and I decided to check out this brewery restaurant on the beach. We arrived on a Friday around 4:00 pm and had no trouble finding parking. Opting for the upstairs outdoor seating, we were treated to stunning beach views. The ordering process is unique--you scan a QR code on the table and order directly from your phone, as there's no traditional table service. I had the Ballast Point burger wrapped in lettuce, and it was really good. I also tried a couple of different beers from their "Crisp and Bright" and "Fruit and Spice" selections (can't quite remember the names), and even as someone who's not typically into beer, I enjoyed them. Overall, the spectacular views, good food, and enjoyable drinks made for a great experience. I'll definitely come back when I need to unwind!
From the food to drinks, ballast point does a really good job. I love the fact that they have a second floor, which you can see the ocean and smell the salty air. We got here on a friday evening around 5:30 and tables were starting to fill up quickly, so get here around this time to secure a decently seat. ngl they do have a lot of tables outside and inside but given it's the weekend, it will get packed. The food definitely hit the spot after a couple drinks, but the price can be a little steep. i would recommend sharing and it's the most affordable and fun thing to do in this environment. There was a mishap and one of our food order got lost during the initial order, but that was taken care of. Would come back in the future and try other items for sure.
I had an amazing experience at Ballast Point in Long Beach! We sat on the rooftop, and it was a beautiful day with a stunning view of the ocean. The atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed weekend hangout. The ordering system is incredibly convenient--you can do everything from your phone while seated, and the service was impressively quick. The drinks were fantastic, and the food was absolutely delicious. I particularly loved the cauliflower tacos; they were perfect. The chicken sandwich and fries were also great. Overall, Ballast Point is a must-try when you're in Long Beach. If you're looking for a great spot to relax and enjoy good food and drinks, this place should be at the top of your list!
